"Autothrottle to GA" command (aka TOGA button) issues
-
The "Autothrottle to GA" command (aka TOGA button) has a couple of issues:
-
Non-functional when AP NAV SRC is set to GNS. Does nothing.
-
When AP NAV SRC is on FMS and AP is on, it does not d/c the AP but rather commands the plane to pitch up to the GA attitude.
I believe it should command the flight director to the GA attitude and d/c the AP?
Example: If I'm on an ILS approach with AP On, LOC + GS active, I can press TOGA, the AP will raise the nose and climb up from the glideslope, then I can immediately press TOGA again and it will cancel the GA command and dive to re-capture the glideslope from above! That's weird!

Sorry for the brief reply. We are packing up for Flight Sim Expo over the weekend.

This is out of my control, and up to Working Title, who created the GNS for MSFS. I have asked them about this in the past, but they seem busy with other things.
-
Yes, I believe that is the correct behavior, as well. I just haven't had the time to confirm it and implement it yet.

Correct.
As per Starship AFM page 4-27 - Normal Procedures - Go Around,
Go around mode (GA) may be selected with the buttons on each power lever. The
go around mode commands a 7° pitch up, wings level attitude on the Flight
Director. If the autopilot is engaged when GA is selected, the autopilot will
disconnect and the aural alert will sound. The tone may be cancelled by
depressing the GA button a second time or depressing either disconnect button.
Re-engagement of the autopilot in GA clears GA and synchronizes the autopilot
commands to the airplane pitch attitude at the time of engagement and continues
to maintain wings level. -
I wanted to clarify: pressing TOGA did not disengage the AP
