Flight Dynamics

I have been flying the Starship in 2020 at night, since night runway lights are broken for me in 2024 (very blurry, out of focus). I have had three very successful flights in 2020 at night with this bird, and, despite needing to learn more about how certain things operate, I am very pleased with it.
Most of all, my post is simply to say that the flight dynamics are so amazing. You can actually disconnect the AP and hand-fly without struggling, which is so common in MSFS. Tonight I expected RWY 26 at KCPR and had it all programmed in, but of course late in the approach I was assigned 21. So as I had visual contact with the airfield and RWY 21, I was able to just disregard the automation and hand fly the final. The trim is very nice, not too fast to respond, thus allowing proper adjustments. The pitch and roll are not sensitive. The whole experience down to the runway, including the proper touchdown, made me really happy for this plane and Black Square aircraft.
The TBM, and to a lesser extent, the Duke are great to hand fly as well. The characteristic sensitive pitch or roll, including hyperactive trim effects in MSFS are often overlooked. I am looking forward to the rest of your aircraft for 2024 and hope SU3 allows me to fly at night, ha ha. Whether it's 2020 2024, you have a real knack for putting out great hand flying aircraft, and that seems to be improving over the releases.

What a wonderful message from a user I recognize so well. Thank you so much. I don't know if you've heard me talk about this on some streams and YouTube videos, but I was really worried that I was not going to be able to deliver an enjoyable true canard aerodynamics experience. The tricks I learned from the Velocity did not seem to scale well. In the end, weeks of work on spreadsheets yielded what you have experienced today. There are some things I would change if it was easier, but I think it provides just the right amount of challenge and stability. Thanks again, and glad you're enjoying Starship!
