The checklist for battery starts says to wait until 65% N2 before moving the condition lever forward from run. Mine hangs at 64.4% and never climbs above it unless I move the power lever out of beta or move the condition lever forward. Also, made the mistake on descent of pulling the power lever back into the beta range and the RPMs red line. I understand why, but I need to figure out a way to see when they are out/in beta while moving the levers. I can hear the difference in the engines when they go into beta, obviously, but there’s no stop on my honeycomb to prevent it. Looking for suggestions on these issues. TIA

This is precisely why I have included the "Unrestricted Beta" option on the tablet's options page, which is off by default. I saw several streamers/youtubers online who did not understand what this option did. When it is off, it will prevent inadvertent activation of the beta range until there is weight-on-wheels. I envisioned "Unrestricted Beta" mode being used only by purists with physical gates on their hardware.

As for how to see this, you can "see it" by activating the "Show Beta Annunciator" option on the tablet options page, which will show a cyan "BETA" inside the propeller dial on the EICAS. You can also "hear it" by listening for the quite pronounced clicks that I've added to the power lever's movements. When your hardware input falls into the bottom of the flight range (flight idle) from either direction, you will hear this click.

I’m so sorry for not understanding this. I know I’m posting a lot of questions lately. I’ll post a YouTube later. Thank you for your patience.

Oh, and about your 65% Ng question, I would simply suggest that aircraft are imperfect beasts. I find quite often that simulator pilots expect everything to be perfect and by the book, but in the real world, we are dealing with imperfections and the idiosyncrasies of the aircraft all day long. At some temperatures or altitudes, you will be over that 65% mark on startup, and in others you will be below it. 64.4% is close enough.

Never mind the questions! You know that I enjoy watching the learning process with each of my new aircraft, and I am always happy to help.

I usually don't use the BETA annunciator, but the click is a lifesaver and a wonderful QOL feature, thank you!

I don't have any physical detents on my throttle or a proper reverse range, but I long ago discovered that using the sim binding of Throttle X Axis -100 to 100 allows me to use the full range from full to reverse beautifully in your aircraft.

Glad to hear it. That little click took a surprising amount of code to generate! It's "latching" so you get the sound on the way in, but not out, and hopefully it won't bounce too much and repeat if your throttle axis is a little jittery. This is how I fly my airplanes as well, by sound.
