Hi, I have encountered the same issue as with many default planes, were the n1 to torque table and n1 vs altitude and n1 vs Mach tables seem badly made

At ground level to reach the 100% of torque you need to put te turbine above the 100% that’s not realistic, at ground level you’re always torque limited, never limited by the n1.

    When climbing the n1 reduces

When you climb, irl, you need to increase the n1 value to reach the same torque value, the higher you climb, the higher the n1 value should be and it should produce much less torque

At ground level it produces less power at a higher n1 setting than at altitude or speed.

At altitude you need a lower n1 value to produce the same torque

While cruising at high levels, yes, you get itt limited, so you should decrease by a bit the turbine values while climbing, until it acelerates on the cruise.

At its current state, at fl340 that I have tested, Isa + 5 it limits by itt at 92% of n1, that’s unrealistic, and is imposible to reach at those high levels the 104% of n1.

So my guess is that the n1 tables are badly made or default-ish.

The n1 value shouldn’t be directly linked to the torque or power value.

It should be something like the 100% of power available at the 96% at ground, and at higher levels something like 100% at fl200 with 104% of n1 (I need to dig further into the turboprop specs)

With some time I can try to work out a solution for it.

    Awaiting your comments on this.

But this awesome model deserves a better engine model to be on par of the rest of systems tbh.

What you're (at least trying to) describe I believe is that N1/NG decreases with altitude, for a given set torque/power setting?

Yes you're correct. It's unrealistic. However, unless a developer makes a wholly external engine model (like the Majestic Dash in FSX/P3D) we are still beholden to the completely broken and simplified free-turbine model in MSFS.

Who Asobo still hasn't figured this out (especially when X-plane figured it out over a decade ago) I have no idea.

I basically think simmers are just not educated enough about it - and hence, it doesn't get brought up or focused on enough for Asobo to care.

They were some nice models that did some tricks here and there, the dirtiest one is to use a jet engine model (which has the same issues with the n1 decreasing with altitude) and animate the prop, but I might do some trials and errors, I can’t really believe that is that bad and anything can’t be done with the tables, maybe another dirt trick, like making it 120% of n1 capable and by tables with altitude maybe is able to overpower the torque values when on ground, and decrease with altitude and be able to still reach that 104% at altitude, so, I need to do some trials 😉 or maybe just do a massive complain to asobo 😂
