    First, I understand if you can’t answer that for any reason, but as a small developer I’m very curious about how much of the work on Starship (and other products) are outsourced and how much was directly made by Nick. Most of us scenery designers buy some assets and some percentage is created from scratch, some developers are actually large teams where one person does textures, some do models, etc.

    It sounds like you wrote all the code yourself, did you actually do the whole or most of the model and texture work? I assume the research itself is a huge part of the work, and I guess much of the code is built on earlier aircraft that you coded over time. This has to be a full time job?

      The only aspect of Starship that was not 100% my work was sound design from Boris Audio Works. We work together to create my sound packages, with me recording the sounds, editing them, curating them, and proving the code that drives them. Everything else, including the marketing materials, videos, screenshots, manual, etc. is all me.

      I hope this doesn't sound too self indulgent. My brief acceptance video for the Flight Sim Awards mentioned a half dozen people who all help make these aircraft possible, but I am also very proud of the fact that each chapter of my life has conveniently left me with the skills I needed to create these aircraft myself. I'm not sure how many know this in the community, but it's very meaningful to me that you took the time to ask :)

        @Black-Square That's really, really impressive that you are developing the code behind these top-shelf airplanes, while creating the excellent artwork as well. Big fan!

          Not at all.

          I assumed this was all your work, but it's such a multi-disciplinary art and the aircraft have SO MUCH detail that I just wanted to make sure I'm not exaggerating when I tell people about this in conversations. Just the cockpit details are so good that you would expect them to fill one person's time. The fact that one guy took the time to research, understand, and reproduce in detail all these systems is pretty admirable. And at the same time, the art part is top level too, even the promo videos are awesome.

          What's your work process like, do you have huge powers of concentration? Do you lock yourself up for a few days when you're on a streak, pulling late nights? Have you had a similar drive for previous jobs, or is this a recent passion (I think the Velocity was your first aircraft if I'm not mistaken). I guess you were already in the aerospace industry before, were you doing MSFS mods and graphic design for FSX and before?

          What kind of aircraft project would you find interesting after Starship? Bigger, smaller, quirky or conventional?

            When I started watching Friendly Skies Film ten years ago I would not have guessed that this guy from Youtube would one day become my favorite GA flightsim developer by orders of magnitude!

              @Outermarker
              Was only recently I realised that connection. The voice felt familiar, and the face on the recent Starship post also seemed like someone I had seen before.
              Just couldn't put it all together until I recently saw the full name and Google finally made the connection for me.

                I hadn’t seen the channel before, it seems like there was a full length film, but it’s not available on the website? Certainly it looks like the graphics + aviation skill set was there prior to MSFS 2020, the right guy for the job. :)
