Hello, I'm experiencing the same issue with the AT and AP not engaging as stated here. I had one flight in the RJ85 that went smooth, ever since it stopped working. The second flight I hopped into the RJ100, the autopilot automatically disconnected midflight when I was about to arrive at the first waypoint of a STAR. Now I'm unable to engage the AP.

I made a video showing the issue, here is the link: https://vimeo.com/1042663653?share=copy

The autopilot and A/T Arm switch seem to be broken since the last update, with MSFS2024 compatibility. No autopilot mode works, neither engaging the autopilot, even though power is supplied, the flight directors are on and the IRS is aligned. The Avionic Masters, Yaw Dampers etc. are also on, including the EFIS 1 and EFIS 2 Masters.

Tested both, the Avro RJ100 and Avro RJ85, with different panel stats and reloaded the sim multiple times. I also followed the instruction, how to load the aircraft correctly.

Update: I just did another quick testflight from Zurich (LSZH) to London City (EGLC) and everything seemed to have worked. The A/T Arm switch worked, the autopilot modes including LNAV worked amazingly too. (in MSFS2020)

You have done an incredible job JustFlight! Definitely the best rendition of the so called "Jumbolino" we have so far. The sounds, the system depth, absolutely incredible.

Only sometimes there are a few random quirks with the A/T Arm switch being a bit buggy, but I guess that can be fixed in the future.

    Hey team,

    I too get this problem.

If you wait ages (>10 minutes) you get a FMGS* PASS flash up on the PFD and all the AP/TPR/YD systems start to work again.

Not sure if this is linked to panel state changing or if its linked to the 'state saving' option in the settings. As it is random, but happens with each plane.

Im unable to load a 'cold and dark' as there are too many background software errors (e.g when you turn on power the windscreen wipers are on max by default, Ive never sued the wipers for any reason).

*I think it was FMGS PASS as it flashes up momentary and didnt pick all the letters. It was 'something PASS' related to all the systems.

Hi, also had the problem that I couldn't activate A/T and autopilot in MSfS 2024. It really bugged me, because I thought I missed something during start up. But restarting the flight or setting the aircraft state, didn't changed the fact.

I used a third party livery (Avro 85) for the first time in the sim. Third party livery are generally problematic in the new sim, as they appear as separate aircrafts (for me). Further, the fire handle of engine one was pulled, without me pulling it. Very strange. I will try tomorrow in the old sim.

    Cheers

Hi All….the inoperative A/T issue of discussion has recently set in on my RJ flights too. Reading the above posts, I have tried five times reloading the RJ and the A/T still cannot be activated for flight. It seems something in MSFS2024 or the Just Flight RJ software is causing this issue? Does this problem have the attention of Just Flight?

Yes, keep getting that inop A/T too. Need to restart the flight 2-3 times until the A/T switch starts ON and with the green light. Note that I am spawnig on the runway so with engines running. IF they start being running, sometimes even the engines start off when spawning on the runway. Still weird and not ok IMHO

@plumps said in A/T and Autopilot not engaging:

well, indeed. I let it sit today reeeeally long and voilá, A/T showing green lights and good to go. will double check soon. no idea though what's going on in the backgroud when one flight A/T starts readily engaged and one time not. with very same Rj85 Lufthansa livery (official) and at the very same airport.
BTW, clicking the fly now button as soon as it turns yellow/can be clicked did NOT do the trick, still A/T lights was grey and could not be enabled

Yup. Same. Usually RJ works just fine. Let it sit for several minutes before attempting to start from C/D. I don't use any liveries just the ones that come with the default plane.

Well, still a hit and miss with the AP working correctly right after starting a flight. Just wondering whether this something JF is aware of and looking into?
