King Air Autopilot Indicators Blank
-
I'm having issues where the indicators on the autopilot panel will just disappear during a flight. Everything still functions correctly, and the indicators above the attitude indicator continue to function.
Along with this bug, the OAT indicator also goes blank, although strangely the interior one functions normally.
I believe this is linked to switching between external view, or drone view, and back into the cockpit as that seems to be when I have seen it occur.

Looking at the code, I have a hunch. Is it possible that you have hardware controls that are attempting to set the "Avionics Master" electrical circuit? The OAT indicator and the autopilot indicator lamps appear to be the only items in the code that are connected to this circuit.
Some clarifications: When you say that the "interior" OAT gauge is still working, to which one are you referring? When you say that the autopilot panel above the attitude indicator is still working, are you referring to just the mode annunciator panel, or the duplicate autopilot control panel that can be swapped in by clicking on the default mode annunciator panel?

I have a joystick and throttle plugged in but nothing set to avionics master. Sorry I meant the cabin temperature gauge works fine, I should have elaborated. The mode annunciator panel works fine, but if I click it to change to the autopilot control panel the indicators are blank.

Thanks for the screenshots. Ah, yes, the cabin temperature gauge is something completely unrelated. Your screenshots seem very much aligned with my hypothesis. If you wanted to look at one more thing to confirm it, I suspect that the GPS/NAV source selector buttons are also not illuminated. I looked at the code, and it does not appear that a failure relating to the "avionics master" circuit is possible, so we can rule that out. You could try binding the avionics master toggle event in the simulator's menu to a keyboard key and see if you can restore the lights that way. You say that it seems to be when you change cameras. Could you accidentally have the avionics master event double-bound with a button on your joystick to change cameras? We can confirm that this is the problem for certain if you are willing to enable developer mode in the simulator menu, but I will wait for your thoughts before giving you any further instructions.

I have found the issue and have just tested it.
I believe I was hitting Page Up switching between external views by mistake because I can never remember the controls for external/drone view. This key is listed as 'Toggle Avionics Master' in the controls, and when pressed reproduces the issue mentioned disabling the indicators on the autopilot panel and the OAT gauge. It doesn't actually switch off the avionics though, the switch is still on, as are all the other avionics. You are also correct in that the GPS/NAV source display is also affected by this
Should the avionics master control be linked to the switch in the King Air? Is this a bug or intentional?

Excellent! I'm glad we have a solution, and I hope it wasn't too much trouble to locate. It's neither a bug, nor intentional, really. The King Air is just not meant to work with some of the more simplistic features in the simulator. Sorry it caused you any trouble, though! Let me know if you need help with anything else.
