Forthcoming update for the TBM8
-
First of all, great work so far.
But I was wondering since it was announced somewhere (JF's Facebook maybe) that the update would come "shortly after FSExpo24", was there some unexpected hiccup and/or if there is any info available on the expected timeline for the coming update? Because dukes are nice, but for me nothing beats tbm to be honest.

EHSI Arc mode feature is explained in the manual.
It says that this feature optional in the real planes and thereby not simulated for now. Maybe someday. -
@knidarkness I agree - it would be good to know if the update is coming, or in development hell, or whatever
-
I am not the developer but I read a post from them that they had been working on this during June/July, so I imagine it's not far off. I bought it after buying the Dukes and it's still an excellent add-on even without the EFB :)
-
@toby23 It is! But i just can't make myself use the built-in W&B manager :)

Unlikely, IMHO.
To date Nick's works was mostly about hybrid cockpits.
@Black-Square: we love your way!! Keep going! -
I too would like to see an update for this. Very quiet
-
maybe they are working on a better sound pack upgrade? :D
-
They are probably working on prepping all the products for MSFS 2024 and making sure they are compatible with 2020. I'm guessing the update will come after 2024 is released.
-
@Buzz I would really hope that would not be the case, since it was announced/promised as smth to come "after FSExpo24", and for most people "after XXX" does not really imply "4 months after X" ;)

@knidarkness I hear ya, but IF the developer avoids having to write the update twice by simply waiting until 2024 comes out then I can understand.
-
@Buzz , "understand" - yes, but "approve" or "support" after the update was marketed/previewed in the context "will publish after XXX event" -- not so much, tbh.

The BlackSquare TBM 850 is still my favorite GA aircraft in MSFS.
Besides smaller fixes and technological upgrade to match the Dukes, my biggest wish is a customized sound set. The default Asobo TBM 930 sounds definitely do not match the fidelity of the 850 aircraft rendition itself.
I personally (!) would also be willed to pay a small amount for an external soundset by Boris Audio Works or FTSim+.
With the latter I recently made good experience by exchanging the Citation Longitude's and PMDG 737-800 sounds. Although often underestimated, a new good set of sounds has a high impact to the overall immersion when flying.

@Black-Square Sorry for the ping but the speculations are running rampant so maybe you could chime in on the status of this update.

I'm speaking on behalf of Nick at Black Square here so my information may not be 100% accurate but we're aware that Nick is testing the TBM 850 update currently. That's been ongoing over the weekend and into this week, so it should mean we're not too far away from seeing the desired update but I'm unable to give an exact date just now. It's not forgotten though and is currently a priority.
One thing to mention, the update will not include a Sounds update. Sorry if the expectation was that there would be one included in this next update but that's not going to be the case. Not being counted out going forward but no firm plans for that currently.
Thank you.

An EFB would make up for that :)

Great news 👍🏻

Lovely news

Great, thanks for the update.
The sound upgrade is more a big wish, rather than an expectation since the advertisements clearly said the TBM will use the default sounds as a base.
