Rudder craziness during climb in Turbine Duke with Autopilot
-
Perhaps user error on my part, but I've been noticing that although the Duke's ground handling is so much better than most (with rudder control); I find that while in a climb with the Turbine Duke, the ball (of the turn slip indicator) will "peg" out to one side and then another without any movement from the rudder pedals. Sometimes I'll get the ball nicely centered, and with no change in rudder movement, the ball will suddenly peg to one side or the other (with no turns or turbulence or even any apparent yaw). This behavior includes moving full left, which is not what one would expect from torque and p-factor on a steep climb with high power settings. I don't think it's my rudder pedals, as like I said before ground steering is better than most. Once I'm in cruise, the ball behaves itself.
