    Hi all

Is anyone having any difficulty with the camera view when using the Tobii 5? I'm finding that if I look left or up my head goes through the fuselage. Haven't experienced this in any other module.

The only way I can get around it is by sitting far left and high when resetting head tracking, then when I shift back to my normal seating position I'm away from the side wall/ceiling. Problem is I'm then way too central.

Any thoughts would be really appreciated.

    Cheers

I also find the default position in the Duke is a bit to high. After lowering the default viewpoint in the sim down a bit it was ok. I think it was on 50 and now I set it to 40.

Agreed that things vis a vis Tobii could possibly do with a tweak

Yes I have also found this. Thanks for the tip on adjusting the default.

I found the same thing with my Tobii, and just adjusted my default pilot position a little down and to the right. It feels just fine to me now.

So... stupid question, but how do you change the default pilot position? Is it in the main menu options rather than once you've spawned in? And can you set it per aircraft, or do you need to adjust it back when flying something else?

              Thanks for the responses guys

There’s a pair of key commands in the View section in the sim’s control options. They are named something like “Set Pilot Position …”, and I recall the default mappings being Ctrl-F9 and Ctrl-F10. I just slew my view to the desired pilot position and then hit both of those key combos, and the changes have been remembered ever since (through several flights, so they are persistent).

I'm not having this problem with the default view, lol. I only bleed through the side sometimes, depending on my chair position in the room. I wonder if having a 34 inch monitor makes a difference? It's challenging with trackers and VR because planes are usually pretty small inside. I would imagine zoom makes a difference too. As an aside, most flight simmers sit too low in the game and think that's normal.

I think the human ergonomics have a role here. I have often found myself sitting left of optimum in an aircraft and caught myself out with the old swivel seat being slightly left of where I left it! Possibly through swivelling and getting up to back downstairs. I am trying to wear some divots into my office carpet but this would go down really well with my line manager 🙂 Needless to say, I do eventually get it right only to wonder why the rudder pedals have shifted too.
