    Hi, all. The documentation states that oil doors must be kept closed during cruise, but I'm getting amber annunciators for both oil cooler doors, and I'm not sure if I need to close them or not. I'm flying above Alaska at FL200 and -26 ºC OAT.

      AFAIK the indicators only are to remind you that the doors are closed.
      I believe, i read it in the manual somewhere or a YTer mentioned it ...

        But the manual itself states that they must be closed on cruise:

        And also says that:

        AMBER conditions will likely result in a
        more severe condition if pilot action is not taken to rectify the condition soon.

        So I think it is contradictory... The amber condition suggests to open the oil doors, but manual states they must remain closed during cruise....

          I recognized this contradiction while coding the aircraft too, and it's always bothered me. The oil doors should definitely be closed during all but the highest ambient temperature cruise operations, but there's a chance I got the color wrong. As I'm sure you can imagine, when you work on an aircraft like this for over a year, one day you REALLY care about the placement of rivets on the wing, then another day you REALLY care about the annunciator light colors, and yet another day you REALLY care about the combustion heater fuel consumption. You can be certain you got something right one day, but then you have to move on from it the next. Anyway... I'll check on it for us :)

            Thanks! If the logic procedure is to keep the doors closed that's what I'll do and ignore the annunciator for the moment. This aircraft is so complex that I was afraid that a collateral damage could arise in that particular scenario.

              The Turbine Duke supplement states...

              "A Left or Right Oil Door amber annunciator light illuminates when the oil door is closed. The oil door must be open for takeoff and landing."

              Well, at least it didn't take too long for me to confirm that one. Thanks for asking, guys.
