In the Grand Duke I’d been fiddling with the autopilot during a flight, trying to get it to work for climbs and descents, and eventually used attitude mode to set my descent rate (which I think might be the only way). But after it leveled out at my set altitude, when I disconnected the autopilot to hand fly the approach, I could no longer trim the aircraft … the trim wheel just wouldn’t move no matter how many ways I tried. There were no failures listed in the tablet, either.

I don’t know what specifically might have caused this, so I’ll watch for it to happen again.

Edit: before anyone asks, yes I verified that the Pitch Trim switch was still On when this problem was occurring.

Yes, attitude mode is the only manual vertical autopilot mode in the aircraft.

Very strange. There is nothing that should interfere with the operation of normal trim, autopilot or not.

Unfortunately, all I can say right now is to let me know if it happens to you again, and we can try to troubleshoot together. Since autopilot functionality is often tied to the custom autopilots in the GPS addons, pay attention to which GPS unit you are using if it happens again, or see if it happens with all GPS units.
