    Hi,

I am having issues with my TBM850. Whenever I approach an ILS approach, the LOC is 90 degress out - for example, EGLC RW09 ILS, I follow the approach as per the plate, and am lined up with the runway, but LOC1 is showing a heading of 180 degrees.

The same occurs at EGNX RW 09 - lined up on runway heading and LOC is at 180 degrees.

This does not occur in any other aircraft at the same airports so it's not an airport data thing.

    Has anyone seen this before?

    Cheers,

    Phil

I can explore this later, but I want to make sure that I understand what you're seeing. Unlike VOR's, localizer antennas have no sense of direction. In an aircraft with an HSI, you have to manually rotate the course knob to match the final approach course. A lot of flight simmers don't know this, because many of the GPS addons automatically position the HSI's course when arriving at the final approach fix, assuming an approach is activated.

Is the problem that you're expecting to see the course positioned automatically by the GPS, or are you experiencing an actual discrepancy with the radionavigation?

Hi, thanks so much for your message. You are completely correct! I had no idea that this was a crutch that most add-ons provided. The thing that confused me was that the GPS heading marker automatically shows the correct heading. That's such a useful thing to know, thank you very much for the quick and helpful response.

I am having the same problem today with the TBM. Has describe above, usually when the GNS GTN750 switches from GPS to VLOC, the runway course is automatically imputed. Suddenly now it’s showing 90 degrees off and I have to manually select it.
