How to program the GPS 100
-
I cannot figure out how to input anything into the GPS100. I'd like to input a flight plan and test out this super cool early GPS unit, but the manual doesn't say how, and nothing I can do can get it into a data entry mode. Anyone can help?

Haven't You found the Garmin Manual ? (Google)

@jonah9000 Unfortunately flight plans cannot be manually inputted into the GPS100 in our PA28s, however, the unit will display information based on the aircraft's present position and will also display flight plan information if a flight plan has been created in the MSFS main menu.

Thank you guys. Being a wally I never thought of the unit's own manual! But I see it does not allow data entry, which is a shame, but a cool gadget to have nonetheless. Any plans to make it programmable in sim down the line @Mark ?

The GPS100 is something we would like to improve in the PA28s, but it just has never got to the top of our priority list. It's not in the works at the moment but hopefully, one day we will be able to increase its level of functionality.

It would be great to at least have the option to load a flightplan from a file. This should be relatively easy to implement.

maybe an open-source approach could make sense?
