    Hi All,

Just started to get to grips with the King Air Analog after spending far too many hours in the 208 Caravan!

Got most things sorted out.. What I can't figure out is how determine the vertical speed I'm either going to ascend with or descend with. I know which buttons I need to use, what I can't work out is what numbers I'm actually setting! Lots of AP's will show you visually what VS you've set - 500, 1000, 1200ft per min.

How do you determine this with the King Air Analog?

    Thanks

The King Air's APS-65 autopilot controller simply has no by which to tell you the target vertical speed, which is not uncommon for older autopilots. I think most older King Air pilots exclusively use the CLIMB and DESCEND modes of the autopilot, which are much more user friendly, and allow you to continuously adjust vertical speed with the power levers.
