TBM 850 - after NAV with PMS GTN750 ILS capture problem
-
I'm having a problem capturing the ILS.
I am doing an ILS approach without the PMS50-GTN750 GPS, I am flying in HDG + HSI LOC 1 heading on the ILS, APPR armed, ALT FAP. When I arrive on the axis via a 45° route, the TBM 850 captures the LOC then the G/S without problem.
I am flying in GPS mode with Airport+waypointS+Airport flight plan with the PMS50-GTN750 GPS.
When I arrive on the last leg I switch to HDG to join the IF of the ILS approach (I do not use the approach function of the GTN 750). To do this I leave GPS mode for LOC 1 mode (after pressing [CDI] the GPS (purple) changes from GPS to VLOC (green) and the HSI changes GPS to LOC 1), I enter the ILS frequency on the GTN 750 and engage it (green frequency), I align the HSI LOC 1 heading on the ILS, APPR armed, ALT = FAP. The PFD displays the LOC and G/S well but when I arrive on the axis via a 45° route the TBM 850 continues in the direction of the HDG.What am I doing wrong, please?

That appears generally OK. I just did LFPB ILS 27 with basically the same procedure without issues, so just some general flying and technical things to check:
- The localizer intercept angle should not exceed 30° (if more aircraft should still intercept but may overshoot the localizer)
- The localizer should be intercepted before glideslope
- Note that NAV/APPR disables upon changing nav source from GPS to LOC1 and needs to be re-engaged (just to make sure)
- Ensure approach mode is actually annunciated at the top of the PFD (only this confirms the actual autopilot mode)
- Make sure you have the latest version of PMS50 and WTT mode package (the latter is an important item. When using PMS50 without the WTT mode, you return to the buggy default MSFS autopilot)
If unable to resolve I recommend also checking the Working Title Discord, since their WTT mode controls the autopilot (PMS50 will probably not fully support this).

Thank you very much for your response.
I will do the flight again with your recommendations.
For the last recommendation "Make sure you have the latest version of PMS50 and WTT mode package...", I updated the PMS50 GTN 750 via the website but what is WTT and how to put it up to date?
Thanks in advance. -
“what is WTT and how to put it up to date?”
Sorry, I found it. The WTT GNS 530 is installed and up to date.

That's where the problem was.
I was using the PMS50 GTN 750 but without the TBM 850 pack.
I installed the PMS pack and flew the same flight with the same procedures and the plane captured and tracked the Glide without problems.
A big thank-you

Glad this resolved your issue. Happy flying!
