Analog Caravan AP altitude hold issues
-
Perhaps it's me but more often than not, the aircraft keeps climbing after it has captured an altitude.
It is then next to impossible to have the autopilot decend the aircraft again to the set altitude, even with a negative VS the aircraft keeps climbing.I usually set an altitude in the AP before takeoff, and when engaging the autopilot I click on ALT to enable a specific vertical speed. The AP indicates it has the Altitude armed, and a 1000ft below the set altitude the "alert" message pops up. Near the target altitude, the AP seems to slow its ascend and for a few seconds it holds the altitude, then starts climbing again.
Selecting a negative VS won't make the aircraft descend to its target altitude, in fact, it doesn't seem to matter what I set as VS at this point. The aircraft keeps climbing at several hundred feet per minute.
I am using the current version of the Analogue caravan (0.1.3) and MSFS SU10 (not in the beta SU11) -
I'm having the same issue.
It appears that MS2020 is not recognizing the barometer setting in the Black Square Caravan C208B KAP 140 . So MS2020 is just using the default barometer reading 29.92, thus the altitude overshoot.
The KAP 140 barometer setting is recognized by the Black Square Radar Altitude, so watch out when landing if you set the KAP n140 altitude lower than 29.92
This should be on their Fix list.
I'll keep looking.
