@martyn Can we get a full list of the triggers, please? I was climbing and pressed the call button to release the crew and they secured the cabin for landing instead, unsure where I went wrong there.

    @jmarkows Here's a rough list:

    • Takeoff phase: Strobe and landing lights on, thrust levers greater than 40%
    • Climb phase: Gear retracted, above 50ft AGL, vertical speed greater than 500ft/min
    • Cruise phase: Flaps retracted, aircraft in level flight
    • Approach phase: Airspeed below 250 KIAS, below 6000ft AGL, vertical speed less than -300ft/min
    • Landing phase: Touched down, ground speed greater than 50 knots
    • Reset flight: On ground, ground speed less than 30 knots

Note that each stage is reliant on the previous stage being complete first. It's very hard to make triggers that cover every eventuality, for example you could confuse the callouts by levelling off below 6000ft AGL in the climb, then descending for a period at less than 250 KIAS before resuming a climb to the cruise. That would be an unusual flight pattern though.

@martyn Thanks very much, as always. Might have timed it poorly while trying to adjust IAS or something and not met the vertical speed; I'd had good takeoff call outs so I should have been in the right place.

Does using the EFB to trigger announcements move the flight to the correct phase, allowing you to potentially "resync" it?

        Hi @martyn

Does the GPWS call outs follow the same set of triggers? Sometimes I get the co-pilot call outs but when I approach the ground I don't get the radio altimeter callouts like "50 40 30 20 10"

Do I need to flip some additional switches for the radio alt call outs to reset?

        Thanks!

Not currently, it just 'registers' that callout as having been triggered to prevent it being triggered again, so for example you'll only get one, "Seats for take-off", callout per flight. Those get reset once the logic detects the end of the flight based on the above triggers.

The GPWS 'phase of flight' triggers are simpler and just related to height AGL and vertical speed as most of the trigger logic is instead contained within the specific GPWS modes (e.g. GPWS mode 5 - glideslope deviation).

The altitude callout logic is relatively simple though and the callouts should be heard as long as you're not in the take-off or climb phases of flight.

Is that issue happening on your first flight (i.e. your first approach)?

@martyn Usually on the first flight it seems to work okay as long as I trigger the FO callout with all my lights on.

But If I do get FO but no ground height callouts then it's usually after a touch and go. When I'm doing circuit practices. First landing would be okay and I'd get everything. But after that first touch and go if I were to do the approach the second time flying the pattern, I would get just the FO callouts but no ground height.

@robsonm I was wondering the same thing @Martyn
When can we expect the 1.3 to come out? My main complains are the fuel burn and a bug that prevents me from editing the cargo/fuel fields using the tablet

Wish I had more friends into flight simming so I had more people to talk you up to.

Today I did not get callouts when the localizer and glideslope were captured. Under what circumstances can this happen?

LOWI East Approach (LLZ/DME) via RTT NDB at an altitude of 9.500 ft.
