@florence I assume you want the attached picture explained? In the picture the left hand 'handle' is the lock for the mixture control. Normally you cannot weaken the mixture below 40%, so this hande is used to manually remove or set that restriction. The right hand picture is the alternate air control, with the upper position 'closed', the middle 'Alt-air' and the lower position 'open'. The manual says 'If induction system icing is expected, place the alternate air control in the ON position.

@clarkac Slight correction: The left handle is not the mixture lock, it controls the friction of the levers (in real life, it makes them easier or harder to move). The mixture lock is the little tab just under the red mixture lever.
