F-15 Issues in MSFS
-
I've noticed a problem with the elevator control in MSFS. It seems to only happen on the F-15 (all models) but works fine for everything else, including the F-14. When pulling back on the stick, the response is very slow or non-existant, even though outside the aircraft I can see the horizonal stabs moving. Then, with enough backstick, the aircraft lurches nose up and becomes uncontrollable until back pressure is released. I have flown a couple fighter aircraft IRL and this is not how it should be handling. Aileron and rudder control is spot on, its just the elevator control that isn't right. Is there a way I can fix this in game or is this something that needs updated?
Also, the trim control is very slow to react, which results in it all of a sudden going to extremes (aircraft is very hard to trim).
Lastly, The F-15 does not have super-cruise capability, yet at MIL power (no afterburner) I was cruising at Mach 1.2 at 15,000 ft. This should not be possible. Is just flight aware of these issues and is there a fix coming? I think they did a great job on the F-14 and I would love to see the F-15 brought up to the same caliber.

@gorny32 Hi, although I have not noticed the problem you are referring to ( lurching elevator controls ) the flight model has been recently updated as part of a major upgrade that will be released around March / April 2022. As the F-15s were our first release for MSFS, much has been learned since so I suspect the flaws were just caused by unfamiliarity with the new set-up. The Tomcats, coming later, benefitted from greater experience with the sim.
The super-cruise thing is caused by the fact that there were no active afterburners in MSFS until recently, meaning dry power often produced more thrust than it should. With burners now in the sim and the engine.cfg files updated, that shouldn't be a problem any more.
What fighters did you fly? I'm always on the lookout for experienced pilots as beta testers, as I mostly build military fast jets.

@dc1973 I wouldn’t really say I’m experienced, as the only thing I can fly alone IRL is a C172. However, I rode backseat in a T-38 and a QF-4 once. For the QF-4, I was in control for everything except takeoff and landing. The only thing I did to make it unstable was turn off the yaw damper (just to see how it reacted). As no one else appears to have this issue, I’m starting to wonder if my joystick calibration needs some tweaking for the Y-axis. Like I said the F-14 doesn’t react the way the F-15 does but I might play around with it to see if it helps. I’m glad to hear there’s an update on the way. Love the F-15

@obiwancannoli The FBW system has now been implemented for the imminent update, so that's been fixed for you.
