Re: Toe brakes don't work when releasing parking brake

I also have this problem in Xplane 11 on the Arrow. I use the data refs and the animation show the breaks depressing then releasing immediately, this is also shown the data output. Can only taxi cycling the parking break, which is a nightmare. Is their a fix for this? Thanks.

@ray-housen I can’t speak for XP, but this plane in msfs, there is no animation for the brakes, only the rudder, and the the standard axis’ for L and R brakes have always worked without issue.

@weptburrito Thanks for the reply. In XP the brakes are definitely animated, but as soon as I apply pressure physically on either rudder you see the animated brakes depress then immediately spring back up. Xplane can display all these weird and wonderful data outputs into the simulator so you can see it as a numerical number which starts at say 0.0000 then briefly goes to say 0.4950, but whilst the brake is still being depressed goes back to 0.0000 all in a second or two. Cant work out what is causing it.

Are you using the most current version of the Arrow? I remember this being an issue for the Arrow and Warrior some time ago, but it was fixed in a later version.

Make sure the Toe brakes and the Parking Brake are not working against each other... They both activate the same wheel brakes, and if you have a toggle switch assigned to release the parking brake, it will do so continuosly and repeatedly even if you apply the Toe Brakes.

@katchaplin Thanks for the reply. I only purchased it about month ago, but I'll check the version, thanks.

@retiredman93231 Thanks for the reply. The toe brakes are assigned to my rudder pedals, and I have a separate key binding on the Honeycomb Bravo quadrant. I did add a button on my Alpha yoke as well too make the taxing a little easier. I'll ty and unbind them both later and try it without anything assigned to the park brake. Thanks.

@ray-housen Assigning SET commands to the BRAVO and ALPHA toggle switches, instead of ON/OFF commands works much better, because when the toggle switch is in the Off position it doesn't repeatedly apply the OFF command to the assigned function. This also allows the mouse to manipulate the switches in the cockpit when the ALPHA / BRAVO Toggle switch is in the Off position.

@retiredman93231 Thanks mate. I had the switch set for max effort in both positions as I thought this was the only way to toggle it on or off. Changed the Xplane bindings to toggle max in upper position and toggle regular in the lower position and I now have working toe brakes and a parking brake. Thanks for your help lads. Just got to find some nice teaching videos on how to fly this thing.
