F-15 f-14 on series x

@dc1973 so they can dogfight on the PC version bought third party? Also is the speed limited on these third party sellers versions as well. Also what kids play this game. It’s not a children’s game. Teenagers yes but definitely not for children

@currator Aviation is a complex subject and you need to know about the differences between Indicated airspeed, Calibrated airspeed, Ground speed and Mach to truly know how fast you're going. You'll need 30,000ft + for Mach 2, which will read as around 550 knots indicated, with a ground speed of around 1,200 knots. These are not arcade jets like some of those in MSFS, they're the real deal. Maximum airspeed at low level is about Mach 1.2, which is around 750 knots indicated airspeed.

@dc1973 thanks for explaining it. I appreciate it and so far am enjoying them a ton and me and a buddy bought both the 14 and 15 the day I believe they hit the market place on the series x. We have been learning how to use the aircraft through trial and error but I learned a lot going over the 14 manual. Then I was getting top speed and did not understand how to read the speed correctly for altitude. A good idea to put into the info page on the market place is the explanation you just gave me on how to tell the correct speed. Also I practiced restarting engines in air after reading the manual and worked like a charm. I really do enjoy the planes but am saddened that Microsoft made them remove features. Maybe one day they can be added back. Maybe Microsoft can make combat only server with no commercial aircraft.

@currator There is a support page here at Just Flight with some FAQ entries on the F-14. There is only so much space in a manual to explain things, and aviation is a huge subject so we cannot include everything unfortunately. The F-15s are also very accurate in performance compared to the real aircraft.
They're also designed to be good fun though, and a great place to learn more about flying. Good to hear you and others are enjoying them :)

@dc1973 guess I need to get a pc to get the full function then. Does the current f15 and f14 have a radar mode to see other planes in the air. Have not been able to makes heads or tails? Or is this something coming later when the weapons will actually do more then be visualized

@currator It is highly unlikely MS will ever 'weaponise' MSFS. The days of Combat Flight Simulator are long passed. If you want to shoot things you need to look at something like DCS or War Thunder.
FSX/P3D has a TacPack addon - https://www.vrsimulations.com/tacpack.php - that adds a combat element, but no idea if that will ever come to MSFS. I suspect not.

@currator
You can see weapons on PC, you can load them up and they affect handling, but you can't fight with them.If you buy a PC version through MS Marketplace (or Steam) you don't get to see or load any weapons.
Same goes for an XBox version - you can't see them.
