    Hi all,

First off, thanks to DCDesigns for this great addition to the sim, I'm really enjoying flying this terrific aircraft , especially in VR using the Quest 2 , it's a thrill ride no questions !!

This is just a bit of a heads up for others really , so I bought the F14 and the HDS carrier having watched a few youtubers trying it out and noticed they could taxi the jet on the carrier basically anywhere they wanted but usually to a catapult position.

I loaded up the tomcat on the HDS carrier, the plane was positioned automatically at the far end of the runway all fired up and ready to blast off, I thought, ok, I'm gonna take the park brake off and gently taxi to one of the catapult positions and give that a go, all excited to be propelled off the deck of the carrier at a great rate of knots ! I'd barely moved the throttle of my TWCS and suddenly the plane went full afterburner rocketing down the carrier runway and I had no choice really but to either ditch in the sea or take off, gear up and carry on !

Tried this several times with the same result, tried the freeware carriers as well, same issue. Uninstalled the plane and the carriers, reinstalled etc and still the same issue. I contacted support but they only suggested what I had already done.

Not one to be beaten, I thought, hang on a mo, lets look at the assists in the Assistance options, turns out they were all switched "on" in the pilot assists. Turned them all off and bingo, problem solved, I can now taxi to my hearts content anywhere on the carrier deck, the swing wings move when I ask them to and stay in the selected position ( they weren't before I turned the assists off, they would move then move back to their default position ) same with the flaps and airbrake.

So there ya go, if anyone else is having issues taxiing on a carrier deck and the jet goes full afterburner after a touch of the throttle, just switch off all of the assists for the pilot in the Assists section of the sim.

    Happy flying all ! Daz

@coffeeguy66 Hi Daz, thanks for this! Glad you got it sorted. I didn't know that the assists function would do that so I'll have a look into it and see if it can somehow be tweaked to allow carrier taxiing. Cheers 🙂
