I just saw the new pictures posted on your facebook, I guess a July release is out of the equation, will it be released next month?

Unfortunately we won't be committing to a particular release date or period at this stage. We'll be sure to share that information here when it is available though.

@Martyn Great job on the main instrument panel textures. That really has come along and it looks so realistic. I can’t wait to try this aircraft in VR. We’ve waited years for this version of the 747 and I think it’s going to be worth the wait.

@Rich said in 747 Classic Progress:

These systems are coded outside of the sim and are able to utilise multi-core threading to keep any performance hit negligible.
The systems have only just gone out to the beta testers. At the moment it's not possible to accurately gauge performance as the model won't be optimised until the end of development.

@Captain-Bakon said in 747 Classic Progress:

Also love the new cabin screenshots you uploaded, is the cockpit connected to the cabin so we can walk around in flight?

It's not part of the VC model as that's not good for performance. You can however walk around it freely, but you'll initially access it as one of the pre-defined camera views (alongside the normal wing, nose, gear external views).

    Hi.

1.Does this mean the engine is similar to that of the Dash 8 ? That works outside the sim essentially giving us an extra 1 or 2 cores worth of work, and enabling remarkable performance.

    1. Is it the case that the instruments have no backlighting ?

    2. Just got an ITVV DVD of the classic. Not the best video but quite a few interesting insights.

Does the classic have an autothrottle and autoland capability... ? It wasn't mentioned in the video.

    Thnx.

    Cash ready BTW !

No, highly unlikely. Sorry about that.

Yes that's very much the plan and we'll sort some new pics in the next week or so.

    Thanks for the continued interest.

I think we've released a couple of sets of pics covering the night lighting already. Was there something in particular you feel hasn't been covered yet?

@Rich yes the instruments were black with the night lighting but I remember being told it was still WIP. So I was wondering if there has been further work on the night lighting.

Is development still continuing, it's been a while since we've heard from you, we are getting worried!

No need for worry, the project is progressing well and will continue to be our top priority until release.

We are currently busy finishing off some changes to the exterior models, completing the remaining systems code and liveries. As usual, we'll post new screenshots on our website and social media pages when we have something interesting to show.

As you can imagine, this is a mammoth project and there is plenty left to do before release.
