Request: Have the default variables be activated on the background

Some scenery design elements such as animations often made to rely on default variables. Navigation lights and similar typical items are common.
Most of the commonly used switches use custom code is BS birds. Would it be possible to have default variables be toggled on the background, in an invisible manner? For example, on Dukes, default Nav lights for be enabled for the game in the up-position?
This is a minor issue, but if the coding part is easy, I'd make using custom sceneries more enjoyable.
