Weird little trim bug
-
Overall, LOVING the Commander.
Just wanted to note one weird bug for @Black-Square , when using the trim switch on my yoke, everything works exactly as intended. When using the axis(-100-100%) with my trim wheel, the aircraft trim responds as it should, but the (visual in aircraft) trim wheel spins in the wrong direction. With the hat switch commands, it spins in the correct direction also to the correct effect.
Messed me up a bit on my initial flight because that led me to assume that I had to invert the binding for the wheel. Otherwise, once I figured that out no functional issue just a little visual bug.
Otherwise, awesome work as always Nick. The Commander was honestly not one I was on the edge of my seat over as I felt pretty well sorted in the piston single cruiser department between the Black Square Bonanza and A2A Comanche, but I end up buying every Black Square plane anyhow so went for it and that's a pretty cool little plane. Good job!

@jasmits This comes up with every new release. It's a stroboscopic effect. The animation cannot be decoupled from the underlying variable, so the method of input has no effect on the direction of rotation.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it! I wasn't immensely excited about the 114 at the beginning of development either, but as I came to know the aircraft and fly it for testing, it quickly became one of my favorites

That's very strange, surprised I'd never noticed that on any of your other planes although I guess on most of them I tend to use the switch. For whatever reason on bigger and more complex GA planes the switch feels right, on simpler ones the wheel feels right and for my particular yoke, once you've used the switch you don't want to use the wheel because the trim jumps to whatever position the wheel was in last time you touched it. So for any plane it's either only wheel, or maybe use it to set takeoff trim and then don't touch it again once I've used the switch.
Yeah though, cool little plane. With the release upcoming I was like ehhhh, is it worth it, how often am I actually gonna fly that over the Bonanza or Comanche. When it came out today I was like, well who am I kidding I'm going to want to check it out eventually plus your planes are very popular with an online group I fly with so it'll be nice for model matching anyway but yeah I certainly sometimes will fly it over the Bonanza and Comanche. Lovely handling, and for sim fun I like how some of the systems are a little bit weird and different. Not just the essentially the same stuff you find in most GA planes for MSFS. Like the digital localizer, autopilot, RNAV, ADF and DME are all not what you're used to. Gonna have to do the opposite of what you'd ever want to do flying GA IRL and hunt down some thunderstorms to try out that Stormscope

I don't know if you watched my Avionics video on YouTube, but that was explicitly my goal, so I'm glad to hear someone is enjoying it
Happy stormchasing out there, and let me know if there is anything else I can do for you! -
I haven't, I learn better from reading and trying than videos personally(big props for the detailed manuals, I hate it when sim planes don't come with a good written manual). Haha on my first flight I was like 'huh, this thing doesn't have an HSI? Weird, seems like it would.' And then when I was just manually lining up with the magenta line I saw the lights start moving on the digital localizer and had the lightbulb 'oh that's what that's for' moment.
Hey, thanks for always making such great planes and being so responsive to the community!
