Help, After SU5 I Can't Start Baron
-
Everything seems to be working normally here, so I would suspect a control binding conflict. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help!

I can't seem to figure out how to start the Baron. It worked fine in SU4 but when I try to toggle the starter with the mouse, it only turns over two times and the starter disengages.
@iflygary
Not sure if I do see this correct. Just did a quick check with my mouse, since I normally use a keybinding.
The Starter is spring-loaded. This said, if I do not keep the mouse button pushed it will jump back from the “start” position. As far as I know there is no toggle function. At least not permanent.
Maybe this is your issue. -

Thanks for chiming in. I went back in, reinstalled the aircraft and after SU5, with the mouse, it doesn't toggle the way it did before for me. SU5 has presented a host of issues but it seems like I may be the only one affected by this starter issue. Is it difficult to set a key binding? Looks like I will have to do it this way because otherwise, I have to start up flights on the runway and that's a no-go when trying to do an IFR flight and having to go in and entering waypoints, altitudes, etc. Thanks in advance for your help. -

Well I do not find it difficult but need to admit that I switched from the in-sim bindings to Axis-and-Ohs a long time ago (several years).
This way I can avoid the flaws of the sim with the addition benefit of being able to control much more than the ingame binding allows you.
Most important in this case would be to use input repetition for the switch, otherwise it will snap back.I can provide you all the scripts you might need for controlling the Baron in case you would like to go this route.
Just to give you a few examples, I can control the sunshades, every air ventil, and most of the other knobs and switches with hardware.
It was a game changer for me switching to an external tool to control everything.No more lost bindings, no more missing bindings. Easy switching out hardware. Initial setup takes a bit longer sometimes but this is more due to find the right variables than to bind them.
Sorry that I cannot supply more support within the Std.
