    Hi all,

Loving the Caravan! I've been flying it a ton lately (exclusively the Cargomaster) and I'm wondering: what is the recommended technique for managing speed during taxi? I've never flown a turboprop IRL, but the other ones in the sim I usually can find a nice spot in the beta range that will give me a consistent 15-20 kts. In the Caravan, I find that when I move my throttles near the top of the beta range, it's still going too fast, and a slight decrease of my throttle from that point shoots it down to where it's barely moving, so I have to bounce between these two spots, creating a herky-jerky taxiing experience. I'm not sure if this is maybe a calibration issue with my throttle (Honeycomb Bravo) or if the real thing performs like this, so feedback would be welcome. Thanks!

Yeah, I can't say I'm a huge fan of of the current scaling. I know that @Black-Square has changed some percentages around the throttle, specifically the reverse portion, but I'm also finding the Throttle 1 Axis (0 to 100) binding to be very twitchy in beta compared to the other Black Square turboprops I fly. It's 15% of the forward part of the throttle travel, which translates to (if my math in public is correct) a little less than 8% of total throttle throw when using the 0 to 100 axis (which gives full forward and reverse on the same axis), but in the virtual cockpit it looks like the beta range is a fairly sizeable chunk of throttle movement, so that 8% of physical throttle movement accelerates it through the beta arc rather quickly.

I have not done more than a few test flights, primarily in the amphibian just to land on the local rivers and lakes, and it is workable as it currently is, but since I am a glutton for punishment and FSUIPC is my third party software of choice I may see if I can create my own virtual detents on my throttle.

Is there any connection to the surface modeling from the simulator? I've found similar behavior with another popular 737 previously that once at a set taxi speed, it never changes. I see this as well with the Caravan. If I am in Beta at 15kts - It will tend to stay at 15kts. If BETA is ZERO thrust from the prop, I'd expect some friction and other forces to begin reducing the taxi speed where I will eventually need to pop out of beta to maintain forward speed.
