Oxygen switch label confusion
-
Hi,
If my understanding is correct, there is a tiny issue with the oxygen switch label.
In the “OFF” position, the label is at the 12 o’clock position. When switching it on, the switch turns counterclockwise according to the label and the animation. However, the “ON” label ends up at the 4 o’clock position, whereas it should be at the 8 o’clock position.
In other words: when turning the oxygen on, the switch rotates counterclockwise while the label effectively moves clockwise.
Just a tiny detail, but this error is making my inner monk very uneasy.
Enjoy flying your planes and keep up the great work. I heard you are working on a Rockwell Commander — that would be a nice cruiser.
Greetings

I apologize that I'm not following your description of the discrepancy. I checked my reference photos, and the label indicates the knob should be turned counter-clockwise to open the oxygen valve. When doing so, the green band becomes visible to the pilot on top of the knob.
Indeed, the Commander 114, the Twin Commander 685, and Turbo Commander 690. Glad to hear you're looking forward to them

Thank you for your answer. Sometimes it helps, when you just talk about it.
I checked it again. The switch does moves about "8 hours" counterclockwise, the green marker and the "On" label on the switch. I don’t know why, but I was convinced it only moved 4 hours. That was my confusion.
So everything is right and my inner monk can take a rest.
