Is it possible through file editing to customize how the existing avionics are layed out?
I find it a bit incongruous for example that the KNS81 remains with GPS units. I'd also like to use just a GTN650 as primary.
I'm not asking for instructions. I'm happy to research/learn myself.
Just wondering if it would be at all possible before I make the effort.

In some of my aircraft, it's probably possible, but a lot things have to line up for it to be unintentionally possible. Unfortunately, in the Baron/Bonanza, I just checked, and it's not really possible, unless you want a big gap between the autopilot and the secondary GPS/radio. Those avionics configurations are really baked into the model animations from their inception, so there's not much you can do, unfortunately. My theory behind leaving the RNAV unit visible with modern GPS units was to make learning RNAV navigation easier for newcomers, btw. I'm sure it would be pretty unapproachable without a moving map in the cockpit to understand your location and target.

@Black-Square Thanks for the quick response. Glad I asked before looking into it! It's all good, I'll just pick a horse 🙂
