@Ray-Fry said in v 1.1.2.2 GA TRAFFIC CARGO TRAFFIC:
TG has gone backwards in my opinion.
Fortunately, not one shared by most users, I am pleased to say. Changes to the way the software works that we have made over the last few years have been in response to feedback from customers. I am sorry that the software doesn't meet your expectations, but I can't see any way we can meet them - especially as you have not said exactly what they are.
Just to reiterate for anyone reading this and having any problems with this (or any other software we make), simply raise a support ticket outlining the problem and we will do our best to resolve it for you.

If you cannot see the difference in the screenshots 2years airports crammed with aircraft against today less than 50% full then i don`t see any point in contacting support .

17aircraft parked at gates an airport with 200 parking spots 109 plans in the database not all will load some exceed the 12 hour rule and some with errors. If you go to any real airport there are different numbers of planes at different times of the day. We have explained many, many times how the flight legs work.
-
@Derek
Your still not understanding me older versions you had almost full major airports at most times of the day, now you never see this no matter what time of day 17aircraft and 2 taxing was at the busy time of some times you see less at a 200 parking pace airport, the maths dont work 109 flight plans can never fill 50% of the gates and as about 25% never compile due to errors and i am not talking wrong aircraft, you cannot compile a plan with more than a 12hour leg and the database used has this, check KMIA that`s even worse plans req 16 hours. and plans from the UK to Australia will not compile for the same reason.
PS most of the early access users have now moved to another Free AI program and will never return for P3D version and i wonder if this is reason for the lack of interest now from JF. and the same one is now in progress for MSFS and backed by the devs and users. -

If you continue to post this sort of rubbish in our public forums we will simply ban you. You have been warned before.

Derek,
I think you have forgotten that every one who is active in this forum is a customer of Just Flight. You should never be rude or aggressive to customers. It unprofessional and a very poor business tactic.
Ray-Fry like many of us before is simply expressing his frustration with TG and is sharing the problems he is experiencing. Its good to know that we are not alone. He has been a great help to me and I'm sure others.
I have said this before. TG has the basis to become an excellent add on for P3Dv4. You were almost there. It just needed a bit more effort, but sadly it does seem that Just Flight have passed us by.
Are you going to threaten me with a ban for posting this?
-
No, I am not going to ban anyone - unless of course they breach our forum rules or post up stuff that is misleading or simply untrue.
You say: " It just needed a bit more effort"
Can you be a bit more specific? I have asked Ray more times than I care to count to tell us what he thinks the program should do that it isn't doing already and unfortunately I have yet to see anything meaningful that we can answer properly. He has told us that the changes we have made to the software over the years ("a bit more effort", if you like) don't suit him and he then proceeds to lists differences in flight plan numbers/parked aircraft and cites a 'lack of traffic'. We've explained many times the way the flight legs work, but our replies are never engaged. The changes were in response to user feedback and we have been as open and transparent as we can be about what customers were asking for and how we would achieve it. This thread is a good example of how we are damned if we do and damned if we don't. For example, we went down a blind alley about Mongolian Airlines and got nowhere. I am sorry if my frustrations are so apparent, but we have put a LOT of work into this software, both on the P3D version and for X-Plane, and the feedback we receive from users is excellent. There comes a point, to quote Mr Spock, when "the needs of the many" has to play a part. I have been patient and polite in all my responses but even I can only take so much unwarranted criticism. Likewise, I am fully aware of who is and isn't a customer, but I really can't put up with comments like:
"most of the early access users have now moved to another Free AI program and will never return for P3D version and i wonder if this is reason for the lack of interest now from JF. and the same one is now in progress for MSFS and backed by the devs and users."
or:
Judging by other forums TG is the least used AI program now by users who purchased it for P3Dv4 x5, and if JF get it better they may come back.
It's clearly not true, but if it was designed to provoke a reaction, then job done. The customer is always the customer, but that doesn't give anyone carte blanche to post up that sort of thing.
I have no problem with criticism and will reply constructively and politely, but I think this has got way beyond that.
I will say it again, if anyone is aware of a bug or sees something they think isn't right, by all means raise a support ticket and we will look into it.

Hi Derek,
You have asked me to be a bit more specific so here goes.
In my opinion this is what I think is needed to make TG a fantastic program.
-
The ability to add 3rd party AI models and liveries for freeware sites like ATCO and JCAI.DK. The TG manual does not give instruction on how to do this. All it says is that "you will need to set up a valid aircraft folder inside the TG folder". Please tell us what is meant by a valid aircraft folder? If the user had access to such AI models we would have the ability to create real World flights using aircraft with the latest liveries using the "Add New Flight Plan" function which I find easy to work. I was sent a programme which I assume described the procedure to follow by the TG support but could open it. I posted the link on the forum but others could not open it either.
-
Sort out compiling issues and error messages. I gave up trying to compile the built in Cargo traffic schedules, so I have created my own
-
Return liveries that have gone missing during various update i.e Jet2 and TUI 757's
-
Replace out of date liveries like the old Easyjet, Aer Lingus and Lufthansa ones
-
Get rid of fictional A380 liveries like Air Trans, KLM and Siam. TG is meant to be as close to the real World as possible.
If all you did was to give the user the ability to add their own aircraft and liveries then I think most of us will be very happy.
If your not going to do that then you really do need to start adding some missing aircraft models so we don't see Mongolian aircraft at European airports. From my point of view I would like to see the following added:
Aer Lingus: A320, 330
Pakistan: 777
Gulf: 787
Eastern: Saab 340
SIN: A380
BA: 350
SAS: 350
Iberia: 350
This list suites my requirements as I contain my virtual flying to Europe. Clearly other users will come up with a different with list. Mine is not a long list which indicates just how close the AI fleet is to being spot on.I overcame the issue of missing long haul flights by producing replacement flight plans but from airports well within 12 hours of the designation. I have for example many flights that leave Cairo early morning to arrive at LHR as in the real World. It doesn't bother me that Cairo is now blessed with airlines it would normally never see, like ANA, JAL, EVA etc, as I do not intend to fly there.
I have been using TG for over 2.5 years and have learned to get the most out of it by getting around some of the restriction in the programme. Its a very good programme with, in my opinion a few glitches that need sorting out, the biggest is, at the risk of repeating my self, letting us into how to add new AI planes and liveries. Then you would not have to add new liveries, as the user could do this!
As I said "it just needs a bit more effort" to create a fantastic programme for P3D users.
Regards

Thanks. This is the first time I have ever had a sensible answer when posing that question.
Adding new aircraft is unlikely to happen, although I wouldn't entirely rule it out. We did add a batch a while back.
Compiling issues - where are you with Support on that? Have you got a ticket running? If not, you would need to raise one. We can't fix those sorts of issues via the forum.
Likewise, airlines that go missing after an update.I thought KLM (sort of) had the A380 via the Air France tie-in? Siam Air was a real operator (but not of the A380). If we have their livery on an A380, I can only assume it's a bug or a substitute.
Adding user's own aircraft is not simple, but not totally impossible. If there is some demand it's certainly something we can look into. Adding liveries is more feasible - we do it for X-Plane.

@Derek said in v 1.1.2.2 GA TRAFFIC CARGO TRAFFIC:

Way back when in the first EA releases, TrafficGlobal_Paintkit.exe was available for download, so perhaps this was something JF had in mind at the time?
Also, there's always been those greyed-out Import/Export tabs in the program...
I've been using TG since the day of it's initial EA release and I've never seen any explanation of exactly what those options might have been included for. [Unless it was intended for users to share their flightplans. I have a very vague memory of that possibly being posted sometime in the past. But then, these days, I have a very vague memory...:beaming_face_with_smiling_eyes: ]
I wholly agree that opening up the program to enable user input/sharing (like with the X-Plane version) would likely be quickly embraced by the flightsim community and greatly enhance the appeal of TG.
Something along those lines was presumably even intended to be included at some point in the development of the program. -
Thanks Capt Quirk,
Being able to add user created liveries to the existing TG fleet would be tremendous. Perhaps a separate section could be created on this forum where new liveries can be discussed and downloaded.
Im sure there are some very talented users out there who can create liveries. I fear I'm not one of them but would be happy to give it a go!
Cheers
