PA28 Nav1 VOR needles don't seem to work
-
Hi,
So the needles don't seem to work. I've put in a corr3ct frequency because the KN62 when linked to Nav1 in Remote shows the DME values correctly.
But the needles stay glued, they never change - not when I turn the plane around or rotate OBS.
An I missing something?
Regards,
D.

Edit: Nav2 and the needle work fine btw.

I’ve not had a problem using the VOR 1 header. I’ve used it for following a radial to a VOR, intercepting a radial, and ILS too. I found it VERY accurate for ILS approaches.
There is a switch on the far right of the cockpit that sets Nav1 or Nav2, is that in the right position? Apart from that I can’t think what could cause your issue. -
I found the problem for me!
If you hide the Yoke, then next to the starter key is a switch that toggles between NAV and GPS/NAV.
So flipping that made the VOR needles respond as they should. -
@Skyhigh747 Damn, I missed that switch ;-) I only use the GPS100, so not really used "GPS" mode. Mines always on "VLOC" I guess. Sorry I missed that :-(

That is a hidden way to do the same as I described. Unfortunately the GNS100 doesn't have a mean to switch from GPS to VLOC, which is probably why they added this hidden clickspot.
My guess is that some have state saving enabled which is how they end up in GPS mode. Usually the cold&dark state is in VLOC, no need to switch then. -
Well I have gone from both VOR needles working to none now. I have no clue what is going on but every time I jump in this plane something else does not work. Really starting to wear me thin. I have tried everything in this thread and my needles will not move. Worse thing is now the plane just blindly follows the flight plan and I cannot even stop it.
