Storm scope not working?
-
I'm curious to know how you've coded the storm scope to work. I have only seen about three strike detections for 1 storm in live wxr while I was observing dozens out the window. I've also flown past a number of storm cells that visually had lightning, but nothing on the scope. As it stands my storm scope is primarily serving as a spotty electrical system monitor for the aircraft, lol.

@rinkerbuck I finally saw strikes on the scope!
Are you flying the turbo by any chance? For the last 3 days, I've been chasing thunderstorms in the N117AQ (Turbo) and the scope hasn't shown any strikes. I've been using windy.com to monitor real lightning activity, figuring that would be a good start to look for storms. Then, while flying, I used the PM50's GTN750 to monitor the precipitation in the SIM using its radar feature. Once again, thinking this would give me the best chances. I visually saw lots of strikes, but nothing in the scope.
This morning I switched planes to the N1107L (non-turbo). I followed the same procedures as I did before, and this time I got nice activity on the scope. I hade several clusters of strikes on the scope throughout the flight that seemed to make sense based on the weather I was seeing.
I will have to go back and forth between planes, curious if this is plane specific or maybe a turbo/non-turbo issue.

Let me know which plane you were flying, I'll try it and I'll see what happens. I tried to get a pic of the scope working, but I guess I didn't actually capture that image. I think storm chasing might be my new thing! This plane has been really fun to fly.

They both load the same code. Just wanted to save you any unnecessary investigation

weird how inconsistent it seems to be for everyone
