This question applies to all JF updates but it occurred to me in the context of the small update the F70/F100 got today.

Are we meant to be able to install the updated versions over top of existing installations, or are we meant to uninstall the old versions fully before installing the update?

Over top. You’ll see the first step is “uninstalling.”

When an update is released, log into your JustFlight.com account, download the latest version of the installer, and run the installer. The newly downloaded installer with have a higher version number than the version currently installed on your PC, and will trigger the "update" process.

FYI when I updated it found the custom location I had the planes installed in, deleted them, and then installed them directly to my community folder rather than where they were before the update. It would be nice if the update would keep the planes where they were.

Sadly, this error persists in version 1.2:

An installation in a custom directory is deleted and the update is placed in the community folder.

Thanks for letting us know. It looks like this will require further changes to our installers. That has been logged for a future update.

Do we have to erase the WASM file before launching the aircraft in sim again?
