Inaccurate Steering
-
Hello Black Square.... I have a question regarding the steering, this may be a limitation of 2024 but I wanted to check. As you are likely aware, the caravan has no nose wheel steering. At low speeds you must use both brakes and rudders, more so brakes, to get the plane to go the way you want it. However, this does not seem to be modelled. Is this something that can be fixed, or is a sim limitation?
Thanks for your time,
Brett(I worked for a company that had 5 caravan's all of different types and was fortunate enough to get some IRL butt time)

To the best of my understanding, the Caravan's nose wheel is steered through bungees, in much the same way as other light aircraft; however, only ~15° of nose wheel steering can be applied this way, while any sharp steering angles must be accomplished with the brakes. This combined steering is not readily possible in MSFS, to the best of my knowledge. If anyone can think of a convincing, and more importantly, intuitive and enjoyable way to implement this, I am all ears

This is from the POH of a C208B. Maybe there are variations of equipment delivered.

@Rhinozherous If you look under "GROUND CONTROL" of the same POH you can see that the nose wheel steering is only 15 degrees.
