I took the C208 out for its first flight today. At a moderate payload, maybe 2/3 full, departing on a relatively warm day, I found I was ITT-limited in the climb even at low altitude. I hit 740°C with torque still at only 1000-1200 ftlbs and NG at 100%. As I climbed to 16000, I remained ITT-limited the entire time, with NG at 90% up at cruise.

Is this normal? I’m used to the TBM, which is always torque-limited down low and doesn’t become ITT-limited until you get up into the flight levels where the air is really thin.
