Funny you should mention wing flex. I just took a day to add it to the Dukes this week, and I do plan on bringing that back to the TBM. I think the effect looks great, and really makes the airframe come alive. As for the wing thickness, all I can say is that I use reference imagery and schematics for all my aircraft. I will take a look again now, after the fact, but it tends to be a little late to change these things once the model and materials are already complete. Just trying to set expectations.

Thanks for the comments. It's funny, someone always seems to request my latest features, just as I'm working on them.

Hmm... looks a bit like they are thicker:

If the radar pod is correctly sized it could be good reference. It's has twice the diameter than the wing thickness in real life. In the sim, it's more like 100/75 ratio.

But if you ask me 😉 I like the thicker wings better.

That is superb to hear. Wingflex does make your aircraft feel more alive, reactive and immersive. I really wish more developers would add this to their aircraft.

Looking forward to the update (especially for the 850) 🙂

Airliners.net has some good head-on pics of lots of TBM planes for reference.

Glad to hear about all the wing-flex being added, does add immensely to the feeling of inertia and real flight. Looking forward to the Dukes. 🙂

I just purchased the TBM and really enjoy it! it's amazing, However the wings do seem much thinker, especially the ice boots, any chance this will be looked at?

LOL... Look closely at the image of the real 850. There is still wing under and above the boots, it's just that it's white and blends in with the background. It's an optical illusion that the wings on the BS 850 is twice the size. The boots might be covering more of the leading edge, but that's it.

Did this ever get looked at or added to the future update plan? The aircraft is awesome but this is something once seen can just not be unseen! Haha.

After looking thoroughly at the model and pictures of the real TBM850, I'm fairly certain the wings probably have the thickness mostly correct, but have slightly too large boots, and that the leading edge is a bit too "round".

Here's a screenshot from the sim of the TBM850
                    209e39c9-3c54-4fa2-a3a1-ab6d40a8aaf1-Screenshot (3335).png

I've compared it to this image from jetphotos, which is MSN 397 alt text

I think that the boots in the sim to extend a little too far along the upper side of the wing. A god reference is the small "wing" (not sure what it is actually called) on the side of the radar pod - the boot seems to extend to about the same level as the wing (I hope that makes sense). Also, the leading edge of the wing on the real TBM seems to be a little flatter, and with a harder edge. The easiest way to spot it is to look at the landing light "cutout" which shows the difference well.

Is there any chance this could be looked at again? It would certainly elevate the model to an even higher level than it currently is 😊

                    Best Regards,
                    Jakob

Another small detail regarding the wing is that there seems to be an area to step on on top of the wing next to the cockpit door, but I'm not seeing this in the sim. Maybe it's different depending on if the cockpit door is installed in the real world?
