When to use low fuel pumps

Low pressure may be used in any operating mode to eliminate pressure fluctuations resulting from high ambient temperatures (above ~30C [not specified]) and/or fluctuations in operation at higher altitudes (naturally aspirated). The high pressure position should be used for priming only and not be selected while the engine is operating except in the event of engine-driven pump failure.
