I can not get the Prop to Feather!
-
No worries! Take your time! Oh, I thought you meant during a shutdown. I might have to check exactly what this procedure is supposed to look like in the real aircraft, but I would expect a substantial RPM drop and increase in torque. In know it's common practice to start the TBM in feather, so ground crew are not blasted by the slipstream while they unplug GPU's and remove chocks. What's your understanding of this procedure?

Where do I post the videos?
Feathering does work, but in a peculiar way. Watch the video

When feathering on a medium to high power setting, i get no torque rise whatsoever, wich i believe we should.
Also the actual visuals, Both that the blades go to its approx +90 deg pos, and that the NP should drop i think. It only does that on a small PL range just around FI. Seems incorrect to me, esp compared to the -34, -42, -60 and the 67D on the Beech 1900D. But this one maybe is unique there
Also as seen in vid no 2, Th AC can be started completely with only the crashbar up!. No other signs of power on the AC.
I saw some other stuff also but will fly this lovely aircraft alot more so I get to know her!

Hope you do not get me wrong here sir, I do Love your aircraft, for me thats mostly into GA your planes are just great, and very accurate compared to most other. Love the technical details you put into your aircraft, probaly for I am a EU/US A&P IA, and also hold a PPL. I Still have my Lic, but no medical after accident. So the flight sims are my joy!

Tell me if you need any other info!

Dave. Most people post their videos to YouTube privately, or Google Drive, or DropBox, or similar. Sorry that it's a holiday week here in America, so I haven't been at my desk as much to try this. From memory, I agree that the torque probably doesn't rise as much as it should with the feathering, but I think I know a new parameter I can use to add this pretty easily.

Looking at my code, that seems to be intentional. One would assume this is so an engine restart could be initiated in flight with minimal power in the event of failures on the other buses. I'll check the POH and see what I can find.

For me it works if I use the mouse, but I have not been able to find the associated LVAR, unlike with the Duke, where I was able to assign it via SPAD.
Any suggestions? -
I have been doing Prop Pitch Decrease by some experimenting to find the right value. Usually around 30 or so.
I do it through FSUIPC, though, I'm not sure what it should look like through SPAD.
@jmarkows I Use SPAD, and for the feathering i also use "PROP_PITCH1_DECR" EVENT that is activated by pressing the Bravo Levers "feather switch". And when that switch is released SPAD sends a "PROP_PITCH1_HI" event which puts the prop lever in the sim back to Low position.

Just to be clear, The Feathering does work as I described above. I am just a bit picky due to my system knowledge. For example As the PT6 in BKSQ TBM850 is running at a relatively high NG and FF etc, producing say, 60 % TQ @ 2000 NP. Setting the prop to low abruptly (1600 rpm) will significantly increase the TQ (prop shaft torque) . So just Imagine what setting flat blades (feather) would do, especially initially! . But doing so in the sim does not change any parameters except Prop rpm.

@Black-Square Thanks! No hurry for me Sir! Please enjoy the Holliday

I am really enjoying the plane, and have stuff to learn about it.Can I Email the Videos to you, ca 30 mb. ?

@jmarkows I Use SPAD, and for the feathering i also use "THROTTLE1_DECR" EVENT that is activated by pressing the Bravo Levers "feather switch". And when that switch is released SPAD sends a "THROTTLE_CUT" event which puts the prop lever in the sim back to Low position.
Throttle?? Shouldn't it be Propeller?
