The dynamic registrations don't seem to be working - bug?
-
Hi,
Did my first flight last night, are the dynamic registrations not working then? I select a custom reg in the menu, hit fly and I don't see anything on the side of the aircraft, when I select the dynamic reg in the efb menu, i get the black blocks on the fuselage which is the active area where reg's should be displayed, as seen in the manual.
I'm assuming this is simply a bug?
Also, while I'm on the topic of the dynamic registrations. Do we have persistence that is directly tied to the registration you use, or is the persistence and engine health simply the same, whatever registration I put on the side of the aircraft?

Black Square's dynamic registration has been broken for a while because of underlying sim bugs. Users report it's fixed in SU4, but I'm not in the beta myself to test.
I haven't had a chance to look closely at the Baron and Bonanza tablets yet, but other recent releases like Starship have had an option to try to "force" it in the tablet, you could try that. If you search around the forums you'll see several other topics about this very thing, some users have found success in tricking it into working via loading in a specific sequence.
I don't think persistence is based on registry, but I'll let Nick speak to how it works definitively.

I've heard from folks in the community that the dynamic registration is just bugged in SU3, but apparently it works fine in SU4 (which I'm not using yet) So I guess I'll just wait until SU4 drops and see about it then.
As for what the persistence is actually tied to. It would be nice if persistence was tied directly to individual registrations that you use, meaning that your favorite aircraft registrations would all have an individual persistent state, thats how A2A does it I know, but maybe for this, you just get one persistent 'instance' regardless of what reg you've decided to fly with?
