Fuel Flows in Turbo Barons
-
Same as the Turbo Bonanza, the scale for the fuel flows on the Turbo (and P) Baron are a ways off on the low side through takeoff and climb. Much closer to real numbers in cruise though. Found this on the Beechtalk forums, that may be a good reference.
“Take off: 39.5" X 2700 RPM FF 37.0 gph per engine
Climb: 37.0" X 2500 RPM FF 34.0 gph per engine, 130 kts, 1000 FPM avg to FL210, CF open, Max CHT 365 deg F, TIT 1350 deg F.
Cruise: 33.0" X 2300 RPM FF 14.2 gph per engine, CF closed, Max CHT 365 deg F, TIT 1610 deg F, 188 kts TAS @ 15K, 204 kts TAS @ FL210.” -
I'm going to try to see what I can do about this, btw. I'm already simulating the "excess fuel flow" for cooling, as I call it in my code, but I recall being up against a rock and a hard place with the simulator last time for some reason. I'll remind myself of what's going on and see what I can do.
