NAV LIGHTS ON THE WINGS
-
Hello,
Thank you for the wonderfull bonanza and baron, i really like it.
I noticed that when you remove the tip tanks that the nav lights are still there where the tip tanks nav lights need to be instead of on the wing itself.
Thanks

I've already addressed this elsewhere, but it's unfortunately complicated to fix this issue. I initially intended for this to be just a feature for screenshots, etc., but then my beta testers convinced me to keep it. It kind of hurts me on the inside, because the aerodynamics of the various models will no longer match their visuals, but I suppose I must implement a proper solution.

No problem, Was just testing all the options and just saw it, not big of a deal, i can just put the tip tanks back on and it solved.
I just looks better without the tip tanks for me but that is just my preference.
Thanks for the feedback. -

@Black-Square Does this mean that there is no actual aerodynamic difference between the different wingtip models and the different wings are just purely aesthetic or what did you mean?
Also i noticed that on the British Avgeeks video on the A36TP the nav and strobe lights did seem to work... Would it be possible if you shared the coordinates of where to put the Nav and strobe lights? Then maybe for those who prefer the winglet variant can just manually tweak it in the systems file.

@Leon It means the opposite. I do have aerodynamic differences, but there is no way for me to change those live, so changing the wingtips from the tablet will not have an aerodynamic difference. Come to think of it, adding and substracting fuel from the tip tanks is a whole other can of worms.... I'll figure it all out. I was just hoping to avoid this whole situation.

@Black-Square As jmarkows said, maybe its best if you just make seperate models for different wingtip variants as I doubt there will be any users switching wingtip models during the flight. Especially with FS2024 you can make it a option under the variants tab so it doesnt clutter the Airplane page so much.
But do you think its possible to have the coordinates for the lights with the winglets so we can change it ourselves in the meantime?

All done for the next update, everyone.
You know I always like to share the behind the scenes of complex aircraft development, so here's a fun entry:
There is a meme I've seen many times that says...
Programming is chaotic magic. There are no rules. You ask a game dev "Can the player summon a giant demon that bursts from the ground in an explosion of lava?" and they'll say "sure, that's easy" and then you'll ask "can the player wear a scarf?" and they'll go "oof".
What looks like simply moving some navigation lights was a 9 hour ordeal involving 60 files. Everything from the electrical system, to the sounds, the flight model, the tablet, and the failure system had to change. With a few unexplainable issues during testing, and 6 restarts of MSFS 2024, we're at a nine hour day to make some toggleable tip-tanks.
I'll never complain about implementing your most requested features, because they always make my aircraft better, but some of them are easier than others

That is why I'm glad to have this forum, though, so you can tell me what's most important to you. It's a lot easier making these changes when I know they will make someone happy, rather than when I have to guess.

@Black-Square This is why you deserve every single dollar you make, you CARE and you listen, some of the smallest things that really wont matter to much people you take the time (hours) to perfect it for the people that want it. There are large scale dev teams that wouldn't even think to do something like this. You are a solo class act. Thanks as always for your hard work and appreciation for your customers. Legend!
