ILS approaches / Aircraft settings

First of all, thank you for this TBM!
I recently purchased it and I’m more than happy with the level of realism and depth you’ve achieved — it’s exactly what I was looking for. The amount of detail you put in is truly impressive.
That said, while testing, I noticed a couple of things that may be bugs:
-
ILS Approaches:
When shooting an ILS, the LOC needle seems extremely sensitive. Just before intercept, it swings more than one dot left and right, making it impossible to stabilize on the localizer. I’ve tested this at three different airports with the same result. -
Persistence of Aircraft Settings:
Items like Hobbs time or oxygen used are not saving between sessions. I’m quitting the simulator properly using “Quit to Desktop,” as mentioned in the manual, but the data still resets.
At the moment I’m still testing, but apart from these points, I’m genuinely very happy with this aircraft — it’s a fantastic machine and a joy to fly.
Thanks again for the great work, and I’m looking forward to your updates!

So glad to hear that you’re enjoying it. It’s turned out to be quite the fan favorite!
I’m not sure exactly what to say about the localizer sensitivity, because I read the variable directly from the simulation, and then apply a complex filter for the signal attenuation, but that should not be able to increase sensitivity in the way you are describing. I also haven’t seen this with any of my aircraft, which all use the same code for their localizers. If you think something is really misbehaving, you’re welcome to send a video and I can take a look at it.
Yes, unfortunately aircraft state saving with one of the two recommended techniques has misbehaved in MSFS since the release of MSFS 2020, but only for some users. I’ve spent an enormous amount of time since its release trying to figure out what is different on these users’ systems. I have seen some recent conversation that this may be related to firewall settings, though I find this a little difficult to believe, but not impossible.
Please let me know if you have any further commentary or questions! You know where to find me.

Are you in SU4 beta?
Same happened to me also and it's not just ILS, also VOR and ADF needles are all over the place.
I returned back to SU3, did some quick tests and everything worked normal.
And all these persistence problems seems to also caused by this first SU4 beta release!

I have no idea which version I have.
Besides ILS, is yours saving HOBBS and keeps your settings?

This is just not in a BKSQ planes: Instability in B787 (And Other Aircraft) Autopilots on ILS

I’ll make sure this is posted on our developer forum as soon as possible. Thanks, guys.

Well, this is really odd. It seems the version installed is 1.6.5.0 which is SU4. Funny enough, I have not joined the BETA program.
