Starship MCAS?
-
Hey guys. I've flown the wings off this plane and haven't flown anything since release day. I wanted to run something by the community and possibly the dev team. My issue is associated with the flight characteristics during approach in gusty conditions. I've experienced four unrecoverable dives during approach. Flaps and canards extended, airspeed within the white arc of normal approach with moderate gusts. I'm not sure if it's me or something else. It seems like the canards deactivate within the flight model, with the main wing still providing lift. I'm also using RealTurb; maybe the issue lies with the combination of the two? If anyone has any insight, I'd love to know if it's me or something else. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the replies I'm using 2024 with turbulence set to realistic live WSW @8 kts Gust 14 kts. I'll run a flight without RealTurb to see if the issue occurs again. Thanks again!
@2000A It's the MSFS turbulence set to Realistic that's doing it. Realistic is anything but; it might be alright for airliners, but for smaller aircraft it's way too violent.
I went back down to low after trying the Starship on Realistic. Some people say medium is ok, but on low (without external apps) I still get a good buffeting from time to time.

I had one flight where the starship suddenly without warning pitched up or down extremely quickly, breaking the aircraft from stress damage. Happened with or without AP engaged. There were weird wind changes and turbulence reported in the area so I chalked it up to that and have since turned down turbulence from realistic to medium.
