AUTO LEG doesn't work for first waypoint if HDG mode is used initially
-
If this is MSFS 2024, I may have just discovered this yesterday. It appears that the MSFS 2024 native GPS system is even more broken and in different ways than in MSFS 2020. I think my code is almost 50% workarounds for this system at this point. I am currently in the process of completely decoupling Starship from the native GPS controller and creating my own, because I just can't stand it anymore.

This is indeed in MSFS 2024 (SU3 beta)
@Marionettework considering how the latest beta build breaks basic AP functionality, of even first party aircrafts (won’t follow heading, doesn’t capture nav, etc.), I would come back to this after Asobo inevitably fix what they broke.

@ploodovic yea I’m pretty disappointed, I was thinking about switching to 2024 for my personal flying, just starting to think it’s ready, and now…

@ploodovic Oh that explains why my first flight just wasn't working... how disappointing. Guess I shall try 2020 tomorrow then, le sigh. They should have just stuck with 2020, 2024 is pretty failure. Why are they so incompetent?

I don't want to speak too soon, but with any luck, the huge code change I've been working on all weekend will not be incumbered by these issues in MSFS 2024. Many other problems in MSFS 2024, yes, but not this one, hopefully.

I rolled back to SU2 - 2024 is in a good state with SU2. I'm always a fan of using the latest beta for XP12 or MSFS... but I HAD to roll back with SU3 - there's so many regressions and constant CTD's (not just me check in the main Microsoft forums!). I also read on the WorkingTitle discord that there are many avionics issues in SU3 beta.... so I highly doubt it's the Starship.

Just to clarify, when you're developing these fixes for Starship now, are you testing against MSFS 2024 SU3 beta, or SU2?

I'm testing them with SU3 Beta, but I actually don't think that will make much of a difference in this case.

Ok I was just considering rolling back to SU2 in case these navigation bugs you speak of affect only SU3, but I guess not.
