Air flow in engine depicted on Tablet
-
Hi everyone,
I was going through the tablet interface and trying to understand the air flow through the engine. At one point the air needs to go through a solid line (just before the ignition - from burner can to ignitor) as depicted on the tablet. What piece is that solid line meant to be. Can someone help me understand that?Maybe related, how does the air get to the P2.5 valve?

If I'm understanding the exact line in question, that would be the annular combustion chamber's perforated lining.
In this cutaway, you can see the tiny holes that allow air to pass from the blue compressor section, into the red combustion section.
I love these kinds of detailed questions, and even before the aircraft has released!

Hi,
Thanks, that answers it.
:) you are right, the question came up when watching the Starship videos and I randomly posted with the Dukes as they present the same question.Yes, that kind of questions only come up if you fly a Black Sqaure aircraft. I loved what you said in one of the videos, 'if you didn't see it, it didn't happen'.
I bought the Dukes only because of the visualizations to learn all the details and then fell in love with them :)

If you've listened to enough of my videos, then you probably know how much joy it brings me to see people engaging with my aircraft in the way you describe. While the tablets can be useful to demonstrate what is being simulated in my aircraft, I consider them, first and foremost, learning tools. Please always write anytime you have questions!

That's what I'm here for! It wouldn't be any fun for me if I didn't get to see my users learning and becoming better virtual pilots :)
