Pausing sim appears to cause unrecoverable autopilot disconnect
-
This happened twice when I pause the sim to adjust my key bindings.
The minute I returned to the sim, the autopilot was disconnected and I could not re-engage it no matter what I tried.Perhaps I'm missing something but there seems to be a connection.
Attempted a third flight with no pause and it flew perfectly.

This isn't something we are able to replicate on our side, but we have seen one other report of a user having this issue. Could I kindly ask you to try and replicate this with an empty Community folder (with only the RJ installed) to see if that fixes the issue? That would help us narrow down the cause to a conflict with another product.

Hi Mark - yes, I can try that. I'll let you know.
-
Hi Mark - apologies, I don't have time to isolate the issue but I can suggest some add-ons to crosscheck. Aerosoft Pushback tool, FSUIPC, FlowPro, PMS50 GTN 750 (I don't use it during flights - but it is installed) and Stripr - I don't use GSX or anything else that does any writes to the environment variables (to my knowledge)

Had the same issue today. Had to pause the sim just before the final approach fix and then the autopilot was off and I couldn’t get it back on no matter what.
-
@piperdriver0624 In this example, could you let us know how you paused the sim? Was it using the PAUSE BREAK key (active pause), or using the ESC key (so the pause menu appears)?

Using P does not “kill” the autopilot. Only using ESC
-
Just to let you know. This is still present in v1.2
Happy flying

Same issue here just a minute ago, used ESC to check my autopilot disconnect binding on final, because it was not working, and when I resumed the aircraft was frozen a 1/2 mile from the threshold. My different camera views worked, and inside the cockpit the time on the clock kept running, but the aircraft would not move. This is Ver 1.2 in 2024. Thanks.

This still isn't one we are able to replicate on our side. If this continues to occur, could I kindly ask you to open a ticket with Just Flight Support via the following link and supply as much information as possible to allow us to reproduce this (if you could also include a video of this issue occurring in the support ticket that would also be a big help to us): https://www.justflight.com/support

@Mark another add-on conflict to check (if you guys still think this is the reason) is FlowPro
-
@Mark further information on this. When pressing esc for the sim menu (even briefly) and then resuming flight:
- CMPMSTR warning
- autopilot panel appears to completely loose power and then comes back on
- autopilot disconnect warning (can be silenced with two clicks on disconnect)
- autothrottle disengaged with IAS reset to 100knts
to recover I must:
- cancel the AP disconnect warning (this causes the MCP to go completely dark for a second and then power on again with IAS at 100)
- reset IAS to cruise/climb speed
- turn off the FDs and turn back on
-wait approximately 20 seconds (nothing will happen until i wait) - re-enalble autothrust
- re-enable AP, Lnave and either LVL CNG or ALT
So I CAN get the airplane back. The symptoms of it are almost akin to someone pulling the fuse on the MCP module forcing it into a reset from power off.
recreation advice
- i had continuous ignition armed - this may be why the engines came back as they seem to spool down/shut off - i've had situations where the engines would not restart
- ensure APU is OFF
- ensure you are in climb phase (climb power / above 10,000)
- repeating ESC to menu and resume a number of times to see if you can recreate the bug
I have captured a video below:
