Unrepairable electrical failure?
-
So.. I'm running with failures at MTBF x10 and it's the first time that I'm having failure since v1.2, if I recall correctly - had a few with the previous versions with no issues at all with repairing them.
This time I had transponder failure, fuse keep popping out. However, I didn't see any active failure in the failures tab in the tablet. I've tried disabling all failure and force repairing and it didn't helped.
I do have the cockpit texture mods ( enhanced and the 851TB ) , but that didn't seems to cause any problem until today.
Anyways, will be happy to know if I'm not alone or if there is any potential issue here...
Murphy of course caught me in the middle of a big vatsim event.
For now will try flying without the mods just to isolate the problem. -
ATTENTION:
I can only warn against continuing to use the “Enhanced Cockpit Mod” by member 804737 on flightsim.to. Since the developer has not updated his mod for one year, it loads a lot of old JavaScript (js) files. This leads to malfunctions in several gauges and radios. He overwrites many files of the new TBM version 0.1.2 with old files from his mod.
It's a shame that a well-intentioned mod causes malfunctions in the BKSQ TBM850 for many users, just because the developer no longer cares about his mod. And with over 2.6K downloads, that's a lot of users. -
Thanks @Raller for the wonderful N851TB livery!
I do not use the enhanced cockpit mod mentioned, but have had a fuse pop on the panel down on the right, although no failure was highlighted on the tablet...
I reset the fuse and all was well...
I have had two random failures (cockpit door seal and propeller governor), with MTBFs of 1000 and 2000 hours, respectively, though I have fewer than 25 hours on the meters...
Perhaps I have a Monday production aircraft? :)A

@Raller thanks for the heads up! I'll admit it been ages since installed the enhanced mod and didn't really looked into checking what's been modified there, so surely this one is out. Your mod is amazing, truly top notch! So that's the one going to be enabled again. Btw, is it feasible to keep your mod interior cooperative with other "standard" external texture mods? Just for some variations... Of course that 851TB gets the majority of the time in the air :)

@glideslope Forgive me if I go a little deeper on that, but I always try to be very responsible with my repaints/mods that I offer to the community for download. I use exactly these repaints myself and if I notice something, I improve or repair it and then make it available as an update. I admire all the repainters who create so many beautiful liveries and thus increase the choice and variety for everyone. But if the manufacturer changes textures or functions with an version update, then in the worst case these repainters have to update many many of their repaints. I have only uploaded one, concentrate fully on it and then only have to update one.
That's why I always like to wrap all my modifications, changes and adjustments in an single airplane repaint. This has the advantage that all these changes are only loaded when you select my repaint in MSFS! If you don't select my repaint in the MSFS, nothing is loaded and nothing is changed on the original aircraft. This way I minimize my responsibility.
If I would provide a standalone cockpit mod that affects the entire original aircraft with its default liveries and possibly also other repaints, this can lead to an unwanted file-gibberish and the user wonders why there are malfunctions and who exactly is the trigger for this.
So to prevent collisions with other repaints or mods, I incorporate all my changes into “my” repaint and they only take effect here in "my" repaint. So thank you for your understanding and for using and enjoying the 851 tango bravo as much as I do :-)
