Take off sound avro rj
-
Hi everyone, I saw the sound preview video released by just flight on YouTube and I compared the takeoff sound to another rj takeoff sound, you can hear many differences, I made a comparison video where you can clearly hear that there are big differences, I don't know how to put the video available for you so you can see it but I invite the team to take a closer look on some engine sounds. 👍

Hi there
That will be sound from a video rather than sound from the actual game. Sounds are, like flight models, a very subjective area of computer games. I will draw the development team's attention to this post and if they want to explore it further then they can make space available on our server for your video files.
As an aside, I don't think (for obvious reasons) you can upload videos to our forum but you could upload to YouTube and provide a link. -

Thank you for supplying the video. There are many factors that could come into play when comparing sounds from two different sources.
Firstly the video you are using to compare against shows a Titan Airways 146-200QC G-ZAPN. which isn't an RJ and therefore uses different engines. Even if both aircraft were RJs, the distance between the camera and the aircraft is different in both videos and therefore other factors such as the Doppler effect can be causing the sound to be heard differently at that range. Engines also sound very different depending on their power setting, and we don't know what power settings were being used in both videos.
Sound recordings are also only ever as good as the equipment used to record them. We don't know what recording equipment could have been used in the 146 video which also makes it difficult to make any direct comparisons.
The sound recordings we have used in the RJ Professional were recorded directly from the real aircraft using professional recording equipment, so that is what we have to trust when implementing the sounds into the simulator.
Note that YouTube also applies volume compression these days depending on your "stable volume" setting, so the audio on YouTube videos will yield a different experience than listening to it in the sim.
Hope that helps explain where the difference may be coming from.

I see, however it is, the sounds are not that much different from real life, it comes very close. Great job, at this point I'll delete the video.
