Autopilot/GTN750 change of flight plan
-
Hi
I just bought the TBM 850 and noticed one weird thing. I tried to google and search this forum but couldn't find anyone with exactly the same problem. Apologies if this issue has already been discussed.
So when I do a first flight with PMS50 GTN750 (free) autopilot NAV works right. But if after landing I continue and clear the flight plan and do a second one, NAV doesn't seem to track GPS at all, it flies to some random direction. Is there something else I should do than clear the FPL and do a second one?
I got over it by switching to GNS530. After changing to that NAV followed the GPS ok. But I would like to use the GTN750.
I bought the 850 for a "project" to land on every airport in Norway so I had planned to do these kind of short, consecutive flights a lot.
TIA

In the MSFS Official forums, there has bee some discussion about NAV arming with the PMS50. Are you using the heading bug to intercept the magenta line? If you're not close enough to the line, the autopilot will not automatically intercept the GPS course.

I've tried to do that with flying with HDG to cross the GPS path and then switch to NAV but if it's not the first FPL of the flight it seems that NAV doesn't catch it. I just flies straight through the GPS course or sometimes starts turning in random direction. Two times it set to a course which seemed to be pretty much parallel to the GPS line but wasn't on the actual path.
First flight works always ok.

And no. Now the problem is back and it's on every flight now. I just simply can't get the AP NAV mode to intercept the GPS line. No matter from what angle I do it, most of the times it just doesn't happen. And sometimes (very rarely and randomly) it does.
I just want to make sure I'm not doing something wrong so can you give me exact steps to put everything in the right mode to get it follow a FPL?
I've flown tens of hours with Analog Caravan & Dukes GPS's and never had a problem. They work like charm and it really aren't picky about where you are when activate the course. But on this plane it simply doesn't seem to do what it should. And weirdest thing is that it worked ok some time after the first install.

Update: it's just so that GTN 750 doesn't work. With GNS 530 AP NAV works flawlessly. But I also encountered a bug with it: starting cold & dark you quite often can't push ENT to advance the GNS 530 from the start screen question. It's like the button is not pressable at all, you don't get the different mouse cursor on it.

@esaahonen when that happens just cycle your radio master switch off and on again.

Late to the party, i had a similar problem.
In my case i had to disable some additional WTT compatability mod, that was needed previously.
